At the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, we’re making world class whisky on the Yorkshire Coast of England.
We believe in doing things properly and we’re obsessed with every step of the growing and distilling process, from field to bottle.
We define each part of the whisky creation process ourselves. We choose the variety of barley based on quality. We farm it sustainably, leading the way with our progressive farming techniques. We use 100% homegrown Yorkshire barley in our whisky. We distil by hand and nose. And we source our casks from the very best cooperages around the world.
Mentored by renowned whisky expert, the late Dr. Jim Swan, our instinctive approach is to make a whisky that doesn’t just replicate Scotch. Instead we take the best of tradition and apply new thinking to create truly unique whiskies.

Filey Bay Flagship is a beautifully rounded, soft, fruity, and creamy Single Malt whisky, made with 100% homegrown barley bottled at 46% alc..
Bringing together some of our very best and oldest whisky, it has been matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks that have been carefully selected and gently married together. The true representation of our light and fruity distillery house style, it’s complex and nuanced for those with an experienced palate but welcoming and delicious for those just discovering Single Malt.

Filey Bay STR Finish
Filey Bay STR Finish spent years maturing in Bourbon casks before being transferred for ‘finishing’ in shaved, toasted and re-charred (STR) red wine Barriques, which came from sunny Rioja vineyards in Spain, then bottled at 48% alc.
As with all our whiskies, Filey Bay STR Finish is made with 100% homegrown barley, grown and distilled from field to bottle, here on the Yorkshire Coast of England.
Tasting Notes:
Light, floral, and fruity with notes of summer berries, vanilla ice cream, orange chocolate, and toasted Oak.

Filey Bay Peated Finish Batch #2
Primarily matured in first fill ex-Bourbon casks with a secondary maturation in ex-peated casks. This Single Malt brings the west coast of Scotland to the east coast of Yorkshire.
A whisky all about balance; soft smoky notes are woven into our light and fruity house style.

One of only a handful of Oloroso casks ever filled at our distillery. This rich and spicy Single Malt beautifully marries the warm, nutty notes of Oloroso Sherry, with our light and fruity spirit style.

Rich and spicy with flavors of cocoa, dried fruit, boiled sweets, and toasted Oak.
Filey Bay Fino Single Cask #674
Filey Bay Fino Sherry Cask #674 was distilled in Autumn 2017 spending the past four years maturing in a Fino Sherry Hogshead sourced from Jerez in Spain, then bottled at 61% alc.

Fruity and spicy with flavors of baked apples, gingerbread, and orange zest.

Filey Bay PX Sherry Single Cask #685
One of only a handful of Pedro Ximenez casks filled in 2017. This Single Cask (HHD) whisky is truly one of a kind. The jammy, full bodied flavors of the Sherry weave into our light and creamy spirit style, creating this distinctive and delicious Single Malt that is rich and sweet.
