The GlenAllachie Distillery today reveals its first ever US market-exclusive Single Cask bottling, released in partnership with their US importer, ImpEx Beverages.

This inaugural GlenAllachie 14-year-old Single Cask expression is a limited release of just 332 hand-numbered bottles yielded from a single Port Pipe. The cask (#7862) was carefully chosen by the ImpEx Beverages tasting panel. The group had an exceptional range of samples amongst which to choose; each hand-picked from the distillery’s extensive stocks, spanning over 50,000 casks, by Master Distiller, Billy Walker.

Industry veteran and Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame inductee, Walker, holds widespread acclaim for his hands-on, innovative approach to wood policy and maturation. Each cask is carefully monitored within 16 on-site warehouses by Walker until his almost 50 years of experience determines the spirit’s coming of age.

Presented at natural cask strength of 55.4% ABV, without added colouring or chill filtration, this 2006 vintage was aged for over 12 years in ex Bourbon barrels before re-racking to a Port Pipe for a further 18 months. The resulting marriage of maturation delivers layers of wild raspberries, dark chocolate shavings, and warm cinnamon pancakes, all alongside archetypal GlenAllachie sweet honey tones.

Commenting on the milestone, GlenAllachie’s Sales & Marketing Director David Keir said: “It has been a true joy to work collaboratively with our US partners, ImpEx Beverages, to bring our very first GlenAllachie Single Cask expression to Scotch whisky fans across the USA. We have been delighted with the inroads we have made within the US market thanks to ImpEx, and we hope to release many more USA exclusive Single Casks in the near future.”

Sam Filmus, President at ImpEx Beverages, adds:

“We at ImpEx are incredibly proud to be part of a selection panel alongside with Billy Walker for this very first ImpEx Single Cask that will hit the shelves of selected retailers soon.  We thought that this cask was the best of the best of what GlenAllachie offers, but our decision was tough as this cask sample was among other incredible casks maturing at the distillery.  We hope that everyone who gets a hold of these bottles will enjoy it as much as we did.”

The US market already enjoys access to The GlenAllachie’s core products, including the 12-year-old, 15-year- old, 18-year-old and 25-year-old along with the MacNair’s Blended Malt range. The GlenAllachie 14-year-old Port Pipe Single Cask bottling is coming soon to specialty retailers across AK, TX, NV, AZ, MN, MA, NY, CA. RRP is $175 on the shelf per bottle.

ABOUT GLENALLACHIE:

One of Scotland’s few independently owned and managed distilleries, The GlenAllachie is led by industry veteran, Billy Walker, who boasts an almost 50-year tenure in whisky. With an emphasis on wood policy, The GlenAllachie’s cask budget for 2021 stands at an eye-watering £1m/$1.2m. With 16 on-site warehouses holding over 50,000 casks, we have complete control of the end-to-end maturation process.

The GlenAllachie focusses on quality over quantity, which is why we chose to reduce our production capacity from 4m to 500,000 Litres of Alcohol, and increase our fermentation period to 160 hours for an ester rich, fruity spirit.

We believe age and integrity matter, which is why all our whiskies carry an age statement, and are bottled at a minimum of 46% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered for maximum flavour experience.
